What to do if you suspect you are a victim of a cybercrime?

  • Don’t turn off your system
  • Disconnect the system or device from your router/network by disconnecting the cable from the router or turn off WiFi)
  • Stop syncing to backup
  • Change password using a different device
  • Don’t pay any money. If you already paid something, do not pay any more money.
  • Don’t trust or pay requests received via unsolicited emails, text messages, phone calls or popups.
  • Notify law enforcement if a crime has been committed
  • Seek professional help to assist in restoring your system
